Ace’s Place is a local pub in Guildwood Village with a Golf theme owned by Arthur C. Ewing. Arthur is a retired CPGA Golf Professional and was the Head Pro for 10 years at Scarboro Golf and Country Club. Arthur’s passion for golf is the reason for the golf theme at Ace’s Place. Lots of thought and careful planning went into the design with regards to the golf pictures on the walls and the logo for Ace’s Place. We designed this website in partnership with SEO Copywriter Shayla Duval and Brad Warren of Get Marketing.
The new website is designed around ACE’s Place being a community hub. A venue that caters strongly to its local community of Guildwood but also to guests who come down to walk in the nearby Guild Park or to attend events at the nearby Guild Inn Estate. We wanted to use the site to not only give information about ACE’s Place but also allow guests to use it as a platform to share their experiences. To facilitate this we added a live tweet screen that can be used to display tweets live from guests during one of ACE’s many parties and events at the venue such as St. Patricks Day, Valentines Day and New Years Eve. To be featured on the screen, guests would need to tweet to @AcesPlaceGuild and use a hashtag for the event such as #StPatricksDay or #NYE.
One of the biggest problems the owners were having is that the location of the venue isn’t easily seen from the parking area or the street so they would have people calling and asking where in the plaza they were. The owners also wanted an easy way for people to find them and find their contact information without having to scroll through lots of content, especially on mobile devices. To solve this problem we added a “Find Us / Book an Event” page that included first how to find the venue, with not only a google map but also a more local map showing the location within the plaza, and easy access to contact information and an email for for anyone who was looking to host an event at ACE’s Place.
